ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.HEAD OFFICE:WHY LHDP?The reason for LHDP’s establishment was the frequent disaster and destruction of natural means, which led the people toward the vulnerability and risks to the lives of people in disaster prone areas of Sindh. The initial team of LHDP, being the civilian of Pakistan observed the situation of development discourse and non-participatory role of civil society in local development policies. They felt a importance of societal role in building a resilient socio-economic environment in disaster prone and marginalized areas of Sindh. It took initiatives from grassroots level efforts with a limited team and self-help approach from End District of Pakistan, called Badin. The overall efforts and exposure of LHDP took it at larger scale and now it has a vast geographical area to work; at this moment, it has started struggling for the That’s why LHDP is recognized as, ‘The Voice of Disaster Prone Communities’.
