The ministry of foreign affairs is actively engaging juba to ascertain the circumstances that led to the murder of six aid workers in South Sudan. Four of the slain aid workers were Kenyans. According to foreign affairs CS Amina Mohamed, the aid workers were ambushed on Saturday while on their way from Juba to Pibor. The four Kenyans were working for Grassroots Empowerment and Development Organization (GREDO) a local UNICEF partner NGO. GREDO builds schools in south Sudan under the auspices of UNICEF. CS Amina in a statement said both Nairobi and juba are in constant contact as they co-ordinate repatriation of the bodies of the deceased for burial. The incident is the single deadliest attack on aid workers in the three-year south Sudan civil war.
