The Zeitgeist Movement, 501c3 Non-Profit Status, TZM 2.0

As of June 2016, The Zeitgeist Movement has established a US-based 501c3 non-profit organization to help with core administrative tasks. Based in California and chaired by core members of the Los Angeles Chapter of TZM, this tax exempt institution allows for tax deductible donations and helps TZM engage general commerce at reduced rates.

Allocation of donated funds include funding website work, covering administrative and hosting fees; the development and promotion of global event days, such as the Media Festival and Zeitgeist Day; expanding public relations work; along with overall media outreach, including better social networking strategies. We also seek to create a better communicative infrastructure to help chapters, while ensuring reliable project heads to help guide volunteer actions in large endeavors.

What is the Zeitgeist Movement?
The Zeitgeist Movement is a global sustainability activist group working to bring the world together for the common goal of species sustainability before it is too late. Divisive notions such as nations, governments, races, political parties, religions, creeds or class are non-operational distinctions in the view of The Movement. Rather, we recognize the world as one system and the human species as a singular unit sharing a common habitat.

  • Just a FYI…there are meeting places..all over the place.. it's called the street. I know TZM is to good for that type of action or just scared.

  • With good intentions at the heart of action, only good things will result with an organized movement like TZM 🙂

  • Supposedly tzm worldwide has tens of millions of followers with all sorts of people with specialized skill sets supporting them if everyone donated a dollar we could do quite a bit with say 30 million dollars and people would be willing to use their skill set pro bono to benefit others … we've had enough documentaries let's build something and start moving people into the community what can they do arrest us ?

  • Hey Peter, I've always been a big advocate for TZM and the ideal's it pushes forward for our future. Just wanted to let you know that now TZM is an officially established 501c3 NPO, they can apply to get extreme discounts on software and hardware from <techsoup.org>. I work in IT at an NPO and we get tons of good products for way cheap, so it's a resource worth looking into. Hope it can help with the proposed website development!

  • TZM NPO just sounds like an extensional tool of TZM, designed to be effective in the current environment. Makes sense, as long as TZM is not bound to the NPO's fate, whose prospects we can surmise based on experience.

  • Good to see you again Peter! 501 (c)(3) it's good news… and the money is not the problem… the way money is used is the problem… let's all keep on working towards a more equal and balanced humankind… one day at a time (hopefully we as a species don't run out of time)…

  • Can't wait to hit the Mega Millions lottery, walk into CBS, NBC, and ABC, Drop $50 million on the counter to show Zeitgeist during prime time on Sunday night and see what happens. A man can dare to dream…

  • Often was I skeptical, if not doubtful of this progress. But in the back of my mind was a lingering ember awaiting reignition, hoping there was something else. Unable to turn away, I simply decided to watch and see, if not examine in silence.

This progress is good to hear.

  • I'd like to hear Peter Joseph say "I'm not even supposed to be here today." He looks just like Dante from Clerks.

  • This is great. Wondering if anyone has had good experience with the app? Really looking forward to a more frequent website update. About to start a chapter and have some events in little ol' Bismarck, North Dakota (don't ask how I ended up here, but I really do like it). Cheers fellow future-shapers!

  • Hi All. Long time ZMember. Why doesn't the ZM use Bitcoin? Its programmable internet money. It ameliorates the NPO process by a ton. No license. No Banks. Secure Holding. Instant distribution. Easy Tracability. No IRS. Its Programmable. You can use it for project voting. I think Peter is stuck on it as a currency. It is more interesting as programmable money.

  • Hummm…. ironically the best tool to destroy the market is the market it self. Even more ironical is that it would be the only type of acceptable victory for those who think the economic game is the real world.

But choices have to be made. As long as you have some consistent plan it seems like a good step.

  • glad to see that things are looking up I recently watched the zeitgeist series and cant wait to see what peter does next! its a great movement. I came across some zeitgeist sites but most seemed to be lacking in recent activity hopefully as this videos says with improved public relations it will raise more awareness and these sites will pick back up! great job tho keep it up

  • We share ideas about how something should be done, made, or thought about everyday. Blocking ideas or trashing them is ignorance, labeling ideas as idiotic just to humiliate the provider is hate.

  • Thank god for the positive people in the world who are fighting back the corruption and finding solutions rather than providing division and blame.

Gracias!

  • Brilliant! This is the kind of news I've been waiting for! Now I can begin to dedicate a portion of my salary every month to directly support TZM activities even if I can't get directly involved in them since I live far away in the third world.

  • It really should have happened much sooner, the organization operates on the fringes of the public Consciousness because of the very fact that they choose to not use tactics that are proven effective just because they have such an aversion to money. This is why I have not involved myself with the movement for quite some time. It's because they see all money as some corrupting force. Money is a tool, nothing more. Just like a car is not inherently destructive unless it is wielded to create destruction. The love of money is the corupting force. By choosing to not use money in this monetary system TZM his basically regulated themselves to pushing against the tide instead of with it.

  • Words I don't like men like PJ saying 'machine.' Welcome to the the NP Industrial complex! I kid, but doesn't it preclude TZM from working with outsider parties? I think if movements like TZM link up with parties like the Prirates or Greens(I'm a Green organizer), political power would be more attainable for those non-reformist reforms we all need for social revolution.

  • Once entrenched in power, the beast (Antichrist) and the power behind him (Satan) will move to establish absolute control over all peoples of the earth to accomplish their true end, the worship Satan has been seeking ever since being thrown out of heaven (Isaiah 14:12-14). One way they will accomplish this is by controlling all commerce, and this is where the idea of a one-world currency comes in. Revelation 13:16-17 describes some sort of satanic mark which will be required in order to buy and sell. This means anyone who refuses the mark will be unable to buy food, clothing or other necessities of life. No doubt the vast majority of people in the world will succumb to the mark simply to survive. Again, verse 16 makes it clear that this will be a universal system of control where everyone, rich and poor, great and small, will bear the mark on their hand or forehead. There is a great deal of speculation as to how exactly this mark will be affixed, but the technologies that are available right now could accomplish it very easily.

    Blessings everyone

  • Can we get a Video introduction of the board introducing themselves and their "story" of how they got involved and what they personally see as their contribution to the future of TZM.

  • WOW I just sent a letter to the movement and then I clicked on this you are asking for money UNBELIEVABLE….SO YOU ARE PART OF THE ESTABLISHMENT YOU ARE SAYING IS SO CORRUPT SHAME ON YOU

  • I am curious if they are watching how Bernie Sanders built his champaign. $27 avg. donations. raised over 40 million in a very short window. I'm trying something similar myself.

I'm asking for 12 bucks a person. I figure if I build it in 5 year period I could hold apx. 1 million people in it. Simple adobe or cabin housing at first but then with the tech and brain power of it's population build amazing things. I have a lot of ideas listed on what options I'm looking into and open to ideas. The citizens would live in a money free city. Everything is provided and no one is paid. You can work remotely if you choose to once you move in. Food will be generated from multi story green houses and aquaponics system plus farm.

  • TZM is great and I support it. But if people could do this full-time, they could devote way more time to the project, without the need to worry about making a living somehow. So maybe paying some core people is not such a bad idea? Just saying.

Also, have you thought about approaching UN with your ideas? UN is trying to help people, and while it's not perfect, they have resources and some political influence, which the project could use for sure.
